The Uniform resource locator (URL) is a global address of a resource or document in the World Wide Web. The first part of the address is called a protocol identifier and it indicates what protocol to use, and the second part is called a resource name and it specifies the IP address or the domain name where the resource is located. The protocol identifier and the resource name are separated by a colon and two forward slashes.

     The website of SWOM has a lot of pages including your SWOM profile page. To help pinpoint the exact SWOM member account, the SWOM URL is used to identify your profile page from the rest of the SWOM pages. We can compare it to a neighborhood. Your SWOM account page is like house in this neighborhood. In order to locate your house in the neighborhood, you need an address so that you can find what you are looking for. This concept works the same with the Uniform Resource.

1.       Log in to your SWOM account.

2.       Go to your SWOM profile by clicking on the profile tab.

3.       Proceed to the web address area of your web browser. You will notice a string of characters in your web address bar. This is your SWOM URL.

4.       Then highlight your SWOM URL.

5.       Right click the highlighted SWOM URL and then a new menu will pop out. Choose copy from the menu.

     In the new system, you have to receive “likes” first before you can earn points while doing the following activities:

1.       Writing a message +2  points to writer (+1 point to voter)

2.       Asking a question in the SWOM Open University +5 points per vote

3.       Answering to questions +10 points per vote

        Is there any likes and points limitations per day? Yes, there are limitations. You can like up to 50 activities per day. Voting up limitations for questions and answers still apply at 20 per day. Community points (the total points that you earned while interacting in the SWOM community) is still 200 points per day but community chests are immune this limit.

     What would happen if I liked more than once? If by accident you liked a message more than once, it is still counted as one. Don’t worry, there is no penalty for this but it would be tiresome to like a message more than once when it is still counted as one.

STEP 4 After you have log in to your account, go back to your old tab and scroll down until you will find the list of RECENT MEMBERS on the right portion. This is how it looks.

STEP 5 Let your mouse hover over the portrait of the selected SWOM members then right click. After you do the right click, select the “OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB”. A new tab will appear.
